This paper is a report on a study by Ernest T. Pescarella and Patrick T. Terenzini titled "Student-Faculty Informal Contact and College Persistence: A Further Investigation". This work summarizes the authors findings which indicate that there is in fact a partial corralation between persistance/withdrawal decisions and freshman social contact with faculty.
