15719. American Intellectuals and African Nationalists, 1955-1970 (Martin Staniland).
Staniland's book concerns the role of American intellectuals in the African nationalist movements, and he discusses such things as the assumptions and misconceptions of the intellectuals and the growing radicalism of the 1960's. Although the book has weaknesses as well as strengths, it is argued that overall it is useful for the study of this particular aspect of history. 6 pages, 16 footnotes, 1 bibliographic source.
