| 18076. INTELLIGENCE TESTS. This paper compares the Stanford-Binet Test and the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, two norm-referenced tests that are commonly used for measuring intelligence. The paper includes a discussion of why the current editions of the test (SB5 and WISC-IV) were changed from their previous editions, the differing philosophical orientations of the two tests, and the concerns that have been raised about possible cultural bias. It is concluded that both tests have high levels of reliability and validity, but the SB5 is better overall for intelligence assessment.
