| 18111. DRAMATIZATION OF A SCENE FROM STEPHEN CRANE'S "THE BRIDE COMES TO YELLOW SKY." This paper first presents a dramatic version of the climatic scene from Stephen Crane's short story. Then, in first person, the choices made in creating this dramatization are discussed. Issues include theme, point of view, characterization, dramatic tension, the use of dialogue and actions, and the role of collaboration in creating a work for the stage. Certain aspects of the original story were impossible to recreate in a dramatic version, and it is noted that an effort was made to compensate for this fact. KEYWORDS: literature drama Stephen Crane.
