| 18312. ARTICLE REVIEW: “EX UNO PLURES,” BY DIANE RAVITCH. This paper critically reviews Ravitch’s article, which appeared in a 2001 issue of Education Next. The author’s thesis is that American schools are not teaching about the “common culture,” as they should be. In the review, it is argued that Ravitch is not very convincing in making her case. Her evidence is anecdotal or based on personal observations, and there are flaws to be found in her argumentative style (such as generalizations and unsupported claims).
