| 17614. FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT (FDI) IN INDIA. This paper provides an overview and analysis of the current state of foreign direct investment (FDI) in India. The paper examines the regulations, incentives, risks and opportunities pertaining to foreign investment in India, in order to assess the overall prospects for doing business in India. Concludes that while opportunities exist for FDI, many unresolved problems including lack of adequate enforcement on intellectual property rights, high tariffs, burdensome rules and regulations, threats of political turmoil and economic instability, and rampant corruption.
