Concludes that while Gilda can be criticized for certain flaws; nonetheless, it is worth seeing because it is an excellent example of the film noir style. Because of its use of this style, the movie was effective in capturing the mood of American audiences when it was first released, in the period immediately following the end of the Second World War.
