| 15433. ADHD ASSESSMENT AND DIAGNOSIS. This paper focuses on the assessment practices used with children identified as at risk for or suspected of having ADHD. The investigation provides a discussion and evaluation of three major assessment practices. The ADHD assessment practices evaluated are: 1) the clinical interview (specifically the structured DISC); 2) behavioral rating scales (including the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), the various Conners Rating Scales, and others); and 3) the most popular computer-based continuous performance test (CPT) and the Conner's CPT. Prior to the discussion, evaluation and comparison of these three major assessment practices, a brief review of the essential diagnostic tasks and challenges for establishing ADHD in children is presented. 13 pages, 30 footnotes, 13 bibliographic references. | $91 |
