Academic Term Papers Catalog THE GLOBAL REACH OF JAPANESE BUSINESS. |
||||||
| 13121. THE GLOBAL REACH OF JAPANESE BUSINESS. This paper compares and contrasts two recent publications which provide some perspective on the issues and controversies surrounding the global spread (through both "exportation" and "adaptation") of Japanese management practices. Jeremiah Sullivan's (1992) monograph, Invasion of the Salarymen, provides a distinctly American perspective on the Japanese management presence in the United States. Tony Elger and Chris Smith's (1994) compilation, Global Japanization?, brings together a collection of articles and case studies to provide a geographically broader perspective on the issues surrounding the potential for the global "Japanization" of work practices. 12p. 25f. 2b | $84 |
