| 13956. COMPARISON OF JOHN DONNE AND GIAMBATTISTA MARINO. Both poets followed the baroque style and they both used such devices as paradox and conceit in their writing. However, Marino was more ornamental, sensual and traditional, while Donne was more dramatic, intellectual and individualistic.
